SAMSON Materials Handling secures Eco Hopper order

SAMSON Materials Handling has won an Eco Hopper order for the handling of cement clinker, limestone, coal and granules to be installed at the Port of Slite, Gotland, Sweden.

The SAMSON Eco Hopper will be appropriately designed to unload materials on the quay via crane grabs. The Eco Hopper will then unload directly into the trucks via a telescopic chute. Under normal operating conditions and depending on customer bucket sizes and cycle time, will achieve a maximum dump rate of:

• 353 t/h based on clinker with a bulk density of 1.4 t/m³
• 454 t/h limestone based with a bulk material density range of 1.8 t/m³
•420 tph based on RDF Pellets with a bulk material density of 0.6 t/m³.

The Eco Hopper design concept features a specialized receiving hopper unit incorporating an integrated filter arrangement with an inverted jet filter media cleaning system that returns all material to the material stream. Additionally, the hopper entry system is based on the SAMSON Flex-Flap design which reduces the volume of air needed to control dust from both the opening clamp and the displaced air from falling materials. in the inner hopper below. This contributes significantly to reducing airflow by reducing filter and equipment power requirements, claims SAMSON.
